Attesting a death certificate is the act of witnessing a death certificate by authorized person / persons/Departments/authorities with their official seal and signature. This also confirms that, the specified death certificate has been issued by that mentioned department and Seal and signature on that particular death certificate is authentic

Procedure of Attesting a Death Certificate:

n India, Attestation of a Death Certificate can be done from the issued country of the certificate. For using the certificate in India, certificate should be attested from concerned Home department/MEA. If the certificate holder plans to go some other state, certificate should be attested by the corresponding Embassy of the country for which he/she is setting out.

Applicants who are from Kerala need to provide request letter to home department for certificate attestation.
